# How to log soccer match stats (sideline workflow)

The hardest part of a **soccer or football match tracker** habit is not the math — it is logging before details fade. Use a repeatable workflow that takes under two minutes.

## Before kickoff

- Confirm which player profile you are logging
- Know the match length (ask the coach if unsure)
- Decide if this is a league game or a Cup Day / tournament match

## During the match (optional live mode)

If you want live counting:

1. Start Live Match with the right competition and length
2. Tap Goal / Assist / Save as they happen
3. Pause for halftime or water breaks
4. Review the summary before saving

If you prefer to watch, keep a note of goals/assists/saves and log after the whistle.

## After the final whistle (2-minute checklist)

1. Opponent + result
2. Match length + minutes played
3. Goals, assists, saves
4. Photo or note if you want a memory later
5. Save — do not “enter it tonight”

## Why per-match length matters

Youth and amateur games vary: 2x20, 2x25, 2x35, full 90, and tournament formats. A good soccer / football stats tracker stores length on every match so season totals stay honest.

## Backup rhythm

- Export after big tournaments
- Export at mid-season
- Export at season end

Soccer Stats supports on-device use, export/import, and optional account sync when configured.
